I really hope that somehow you see this post. I have tried yet again to make a comment on your brilliant blog and it's just not happening. I have figured out with the message that comes up that it's something to do with your settings and if your aware of this, that is totally fine and I respect your wish to privacy. It's just from a few things you have mentioned in various posts I get the feeling you think no one reads your blog. You also ask for feedback on subjects and I know it must be so disheartening to think that no one cares about what you write when no one comments. Now I am sure you have more than one reader, I would guess that just like me they are not able to leave you any comments to show that they are reading your blog.

Re your last post I love the new look of the blog and the name change. In answer to your question and as someone who loves to mess about with blogs this is what I've learnt re changing things around and the options you have.

1) Change the URL on your current blog. This would be my least preferred option. You will lose your followers and some of your gadgets, so it's a pain getting it back to how you like your blog to look. Also if anyone has links to your blog on theirs they will no longer work, which can be annoying.

2) Set up a new blog and put a message on the one you want to close letting people know what is happening and a link to your new blog. You can export the info from the old blog to your new one so you don't loose any posts. Then just park the old one in the background. I'd normally then delete the old blog after about 6 months because anyone who's interested would have made a note of your new one by then.

3) Do what you have done and just change the header but keep the old URL. With this option, peoples links to you will still work and they will be able to find you on google under the old name. The only think I'd add is that I'd still set up a new blog with your new name. You don't have to use it, you can park it by makeing it private and invisible, but at least this way you know the new name is yours and no one can come along and say you are using my blog name.
